Going back to the sea come on! The sea is where it will be that we understand how to live again! In the sea we will not be able to breathe we will drown but we will not die. In the sea we will understand that there is blackness and pressure in the deep. We will see the brightness and light in the shallows. We will glide and dart and dive because the sea is where we are of and that’s why we will live. Our bodies will know we used to live there and they will cooperate. They also know we must go back. In the sea we will regain the awe and audacity required to move forward. That’s where we will learn about our trash. We are trash! We will spin and flip and reach for dolphins and gawk at octopuses and we will wonder why are we just the trash? The sea doesn’t know but it will also tell us why since we’re thankfully still capable thinking beings. And when we reemerge because we must we will teach the ones who were too afraid to try the sea. Also I must say we will not want to reemerge we will want to continue there forever and go to the deep spots and marvel at the weird shit down there. We will want to ride on the backs of sea turtles and hug manatees. We will think this is life! This is not trash! But although we are of the sea originally we are not actually from it. We’re from our cities and towns and houses and condos and offices. So we must get out of the god damn water and tell the people about trash. We will have to drag our bodies soaking and vomit seawater onto their feet and pull seaweed from our hair. Teach them we are trash and everything about us is trash and everything we do is trash and also think about and make it’s all trash! Tell them with a caring smile because they are beautiful and make them understand the truth. Tell them you’ve looked into the eyes of blue whales and giant squids and odd fish with odd shapes but huge fucking faces and you don’t know of their species but you looked into their eyes and you saw what it is about us that we need to know and acknowledge and it’s the only way out.
